The Spring 2023 series by Vietnamese-American fashion designer Peter Do has been included in the list of "Favorite Collections of the Year" by Vogue editors.

"Peter Do’s Spring 2022 collection was a highlight of the season - and year - for me," Christian Allaire, Vogue's fashion and style writer, wrote in an article published Monday.

She praised Do's tailoring skills, especially in menswear when making triangular cutouts at the back of the single- and double-breasted jackets to allow the wearer to show off a sexy bareback.

The fashion expert also gave high praise for the men’s and women’s designs, saying they were sleek and cohesive throughout.

"At its core, the show was a real standout for me because it was actually wearable, without being a snooze fest-a difficult balance to strike," she wrote.

"Few can make a white dress shirt thrilling, after all, but Do’s unbuttoned and wrapped versions still have me thinking about them."

Do was born and grew up in Bien Hoa Town in southern Dong Nai Province.

When he was 14, he moved to Philadelphia with his family. He studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and graduated in 2014 with the prestigious inaugural LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.

Do worked as an intern at fashion house Céline and for designer Derek Lam after he graduated.

Do and his friends launched their own brand in 2018.

His first fashion show was in 2021 when his Spring-Summer 2022 collection was featured in New York Fashion Week.

The Vogue editors also chose collections of 16 other fashion brands and designers such as Bottega Veneta Fall 2022, Gucci Spring 2023, and Jil Sander Fall 2022.
