Vietnam int’l fashion week kicks off in Hanoi

Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022 (AVIFW) began on Wednesday night, welcoming domestic and international designers and guests.

The 2022 AVIFW, with the theme ‘Taste of Heritage’, features collections from 18 designers and brands in Vietnam and overseas, with the aim to embrace the beauty of cultural heritage combined into fashion.

Besides familiar domestic designers like Hoang Hai, Adrian Anh Tuan, Ha Linh Thu, Hoang Minh Ha, the 2022 AVIFW will also welcome the debut of Duc Hung, Vu Viet. Ha, Helene Hoai, La Sen Vu,Thao Nguyen, Hoang Quyen, Tracy Studio, Jang Hana, London College for Design and Fashion (LCDF), and international designers like Frederick Lee (Singapore), Priyo Oktaviano (Indonesia), Jovana Benoit (Haiti), Metiseko (France) and Paul & Shark (Italy).

Vietnam International Fashion Week is considered by experts the number one international fashion week in Southeast Asia and fourth in Asia, behind Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai International Fashion Week.

"We hope the upcoming collections will inspire and surprise fashion lovers with the creativity from the designers this year," Trang Le, chairman of Vietnam International Fashion Week said at the welcome party.

Four collections from designers Hoang Minh Ha, Adrian Anh Tuan, Duc Hung and Italy’s Paul & Shark will comprise the opening show for 2022 AVIFW on Thursday night.

This is the 14th edition of Vietnam International International Fashion Week and the fifth time that it’s hosted in Hanoi. This year’s event will take place from Nov. 23 to 27, marking its return after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic
