Vietnam finished first at the 2023 Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championships (SEAKF) with 23 gold medals, which nearly tripled the number of Thailand.

After three days of competition, Vietnam won 23 gold, 20 silver and 22 bronze medals. Thailand finished second with eight gold, 10 silver and 18 bronze medals. Indonesia also won eight gold medals but placed third with five silver and 11 bronze medals. Meanwhile, Brunei placed last with only one bronze medal.

The 2023 SEAKF is the 10th edition of the tournament, which took place from March 17 to 19 in Manila, the Philippines. There are eight participating countries - Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the hosts. The tournament has two levels for youth teams and one for national teams.

On the first day, the youth teams of Vietnam have won 17 gold medal and the national team proceeded to win six more gold.

The achievement of Vietnamese karate at the 2023 SEAKF is in the calculation of the coaching staff to maintain the leading position in Southeast Asia and prepare for SEA Games 32 in Cambodia this year.

At SEA Games 31 last year, Vietnamese karate ranked first with seven gold, two silver, and six bronze medals.
