Three teams will represent Vietnam in the first-ever FIFAe Continental Cup 20 virtual esport football tournament starting this Sunday.

Programmer, Walking Chicken and Friends Forever Gaming will face 13 other teams from South Korea, Thailand and China in the four-day group stage.

The event will be played in a cross-country remote production set-up to guarantee the players’ safety.

Programmer is in group A with China's Nova and Thailand's MS Chonburi and Purple Mood Esports.

Walking Chicken and Friends Forever Gaming are in group D with South Korea's Sandbox Gaming and Afreeca Freecs.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage, scheduled for December 18-19, and compete for a place in the final.

The final, to be played next Sunday, will be a best-of-five format. The winner will take home $100,000.

The event will be live streamed in four languages across FIFA’s digital channels.
