The VnExpress Marathon Amazing Halong 2021 will be hosted in the town that hosts world natural heritage site Ha Long Bay, one of the most famous destinations.
Quang Ninh last year spent over VND2.5 trillion ($108 million) on improving its infrastructure, and completed expansion of the coastline road Tran Quoc Nghien in May last year.
Ha Long is two hours away from Hanoi and the Van Don International Airport links it with Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City.

The marathon is set to attract thousands of runners across the country from all levels, similar to previous VnExpress marathon events organized in the south central beach town Quy Nhon, Hanoi and Hue.
Registration for the Ha Long marathon is set to open next week.
