Its People's Committee recently approved a list of 259 projects for private investment.
The largest of the golf courses will be on Ha Loan Island Cam Pha City, and cost VND1.2 trillion. Other locations will include Ha Long, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, and Tien Yen districts.
Quang Ninh is also seeking investment in several large urban developments and resorts like the Monbay Van Don high-end tourism, resort, entertainment, golf and residential complex on nearly 300 hectares at a cost of VND25 trillion, a tourism and urban area in Quang Hanh Ward, Cam Pha City (148 hectares, VND11.67 trillion) and the Cai Chien tourist area in Hai Ha District (200 hectares, VND4.8 trillion).
Also on the cards are development of social and worker housing, particularly in Hai Ha District and Dong Trieu City, including an eight-hectare social and worker housing zone for the Hai Ha seaport industrial park (VND5.08 trillion), a 13-hectare social housing project in Quang Ha Town (VND766 billion) and the Vinh Hong residential area in Dong Trieu City (VND250 billion).
Quang Ninh aims to build 16 new golf courses and establish itself as a leading golf tourism destination in northern Vietnam.
In recent years it has seen rapid growth in the resort real estate segment comprising condotels, villas and townhouses.
