A Hanoi golf course has entered voting for the world's best par 3 course at the World Golf Awards.

Academy Course, owned by Els Performance Golf Academy (EGPA) and designed by South African golfing great Ernie Els, opened in September 2017 at the Ecopark urban area.

Considered the golf course with the most beautiful view and best services in Vietnam, it will go up against Bukit Pandawa (Indonesia), Cromwell (England), Cumberwell Park (England), The Turtle Hill (Bermuda) and Zhang Lianwei (China) for the global award.

The winner will be announced at the end of the year after seven months of online voting.

EGPA was set up by four majors-winning golfers, Ernie Els, Andrew Mathews, Quentin Van der Berg, and Eoghan Clerkin.

It has signed a deal with the Vietnam Golf Association to develop golf in the country by assisting with youth training by helping organize nine-hole golf tournaments every month, introducing golf to children and young golfers.

It will also help improve the national golf team prepare for the upcoming SEA Games and 2020 Olympic Games.
