Chu Thanh Huyen, wife of Vietnamese football star Nguyen Quang Hai, has publicly responded to recent allegations of tax evasion and selling cosmetics without proper invoices.

In a recent livestream, the influencer and businesswoman affirmed her compliance with Vietnamese tax laws and dismissed the accusations.

"As a Vietnamese citizen, I always respect the law," Huyen said. "I sell goods and pay taxes in full, so there's nothing to be afraid of. As for the rest, I don’t care what people say. Whoever is in the wrong will be dealt with by the law."

She has continued livestreaming as usual to promote and sell her products.

"I only focus on sales and bringing quality products to customers," she added. "I don’t care about other issues."

In early April, the Vietnam Drug Administration received a complaint dated March 25, accusing Huyen of selling cosmetics imported from South Korea without a Vietnamese sub-label or proper sales invoices. The report also alleged signs of smuggling and tax evasion.

The Drug Administration determined the issue was outside its jurisdiction and forwarded the case to the Hanoi Market Management Department. The results will be announced upon the completion of the investigation.

Huyen is currently on a business trip in South Korea. She has continued to post photos of her meetings with partners and livestreams showcasing her products. Her official sales account has amassed over 3.9 million followers.

Born in 2000 in Hanoi, Huyen rose to prominence as the wife of star midfielder Quang Hai. She has built a strong presence on social media through her online cosmetics business, often livestreaming sales sessions that attract thousands of viewers simultaneously.

Her appeal lies in offering products, allegedly from top South Korean brands, at discounted prices, with original prices of several million dong often reduced to just a few hundred thousand (VND1 million = $38.6). This pricing has drawn a large number of orders.

However, Huyen has also faced a series of controversies in recent months. In March, she was widely criticized for allegedly using her young son to promote a brand of milk reportedly unsuitable for his age. Additionally, a business partner accused her of owing billions of dong for previously purchased goods.
