Vietnam football star gifts wife luxury car worth over $300,000

Huyen shared several photos on social media on May 16, showing her, Hai and their son picking up the new car at a showroom in Hanoi.

The 25-year-old WAG wrote that the gift was a reward from her husband to "motivate her to give birth to a whole football team." The couple chose the Land Rover Sport, which has an on-road price exceeding $308,000 in Hanoi.

This is the second car Hai has purchased as a gift for a family member. In 2021, the 28-year-old midfielder gifted his parents a VinFast Fadil worth over VND400 million. For his own use, Hai drives a Mercedes-Benz GLC 300, which he bought in 2020 for around VND2.4 billion.

Hai is considered one of Vietnam's most talented and wealthiest footballers. When renewing his contract with V. League club Cong An Ha Noi in 2024, he reportedly received a signing bonus of VND27 billion for a three-season deal. Prior to that, he earned tens of billions of dong through his successful spells with Hanoi FC, the national team and the U23 squad. During his stint in France in 2022, Hai earned between €200,000 and €300,000 ($223,000 - $324,000) per season.

Beyond football, Hai also enjoys great income from advertising and brand endorsements. With nearly 2.5 million followers on Facebook, a single sponsored post can earn him hundreds of millions of dong.

Hai and Huyen held a lavish wedding celebration in 2024, with ceremonies in both rural district Dong Anh and a five-star hotel in Hanoi. In July of the same year, they welcomed their first son, Lido. The family currently reside in a luxury apartment in Hanoi.

Huyen is the owner of a cosmetics business employing dozens of staff. Since tying the knot with Hai, she has gained widespread recognition and her sales fanpage now boasts over 4.3 million followers.

Both Hai and Huyen are known for their love of fashion and luxury brands. In addition to his expensive car, Hai owns a watch collection worth tens of billions of dong. He frequently gifts his wife items from high-end fashion houses like Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
