Vietnam moved from 44th to 39th on the ranking with 1,105 points. At Futsal World Cup 2021 Lithuania, the team lost 1-9 to Brazil in the first game, but came back stronger to win 3-2 against Panama and draw 1-1 with the Czech Republic.
With four points after three games, Vietnam advanced to the round of 16, where they lost 2-3 to world number four Russia despite an impressive display.
In Asia, Vietnam also rose three places to sixth, surpassing Lebanon, Kygryzstan and Kuwait. Above Vietnam are the top five of Iran, Japan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Australia.
In Southeast Asia, Vietnam are second, behind Thailand.
The world top three remain Spain, Brazil and Argentina.
Lithuania 2021 was the second FIFA Futsal World Cup Vietnam had qualified for after the first in 2016. The team claimed the ticket to Lithuania after defeating Lebanon in the play-off back in May.
