Son Heung-min, captain of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and South Korea national team, has reportedly filed a police complaint after being threatened by a woman who falsely claimed to be pregnant with his child.

"According to the police, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul received Son's complaint and is currently investigating a woman in her 20s, referred to as A, and a man in his 40s, referred to as B, on charges of extortion. The complaint was filed with the police on May 7," Newsis reported.

"The police are currently investigating, so we will let you know the results as soon as they are available," his agency, Son & Football Limited, said, as reported by Guardian.

"We'd like to tell you that Son Heung-min is clearly the victim of this incident," it said.

Earlier reports stated that Son's side claimed the woman demanded several hundred million won (100 million won = $71,300) by mentioning her alleged relationship with the player and saying that she was pregnant around June of last year.

It is also known that a man in his 40s, suspected of conspiring with the woman, attempted to obtain tens of millions of won from Son.

The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
