Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al Hilal has reportedly submitted a record-breaking offer to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, putting the Premier League club in a difficult position ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Al Hilal has made Fernandes one of their top transfer targets for 2025 and is prepared to make a historic bid exceeding the current British transfer record of £115 million (US$153 million), which was set when Moises Caicedo moved from Brighton to Chelsea.

In addition to the transfer fee, Al Hilal is said to be offering Fernandes a salary of £65 million per year, more than three times his current wages at Old Trafford. The 31-year-old midfielder has yet to respond, choosing instead to focus on Man United’s upcoming second-leg clash in the Europa League semifinals.

A fee above £115 million for a player over 30 would be unprecedented in football history. For Fernandes, the Saudi Pro League could offer a competitive environment, financial security, and the ability to remain relevant for a spot on the national team, something Cristiano Ronaldo and Otavio have achieved since joining the league.

Fernandes has been one of United's best players this season, racking up 19 goals and 15 assists across all competitions. He pulled an impressive performance in the 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semi-final first leg, keeping United's hopes alive of qualifying for next season's Champions League via a European title, despite sitting 15th in the Premier League table.

Spanish media have reported that Real Madrid valued Fernandes at around £90 million. However, Man United have made it clear they are not willing to let their captain leave easily.
