Adam caught the attention of world football fans after entering the field in the 79th minute in Hungary's opening match against Switzerland on June 15. The 29-year-old striker has a beard like a Viking and a big body like that of a rugby player.
He was laughed at by many people because he had a big belly, which is unusual for a footballer.
Later in an interview, Adam revealed that he often laughed at jokes about his appearance.
"I was born like this, my body type is like that. I'm not saying I was that big when I was born, but it's genetic and I can't change anything," Adam told reporters.
Putting aside the criticism of his appearance, Adam said that participating in Euro 2024 was a dream come true for him. Three years ago when Euro 2020 took place, he didn't even think about playing.
"Maybe he won't score any goals in Germany, but fans love him for his friendliness," Sportmediaset wrote.
Adam, who has the nickname "The Viking," is married and has two children. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 86 kg.
He currently plays for South Korean club Ulsan Huyndai, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances this season. Adam joined Ulsan in the summer of 2022 for nearly $1.3 million. In total, he has scored 24 goals in 67 matches for the South Korean club.
Adam started his career with Hungarian club Vasas. He scored 31 goals for them from 2013 to 2019. He then joined Kaposvar, scoring 14 goals for this club from 2019 to 2020. The peak of Adam's career was with Paksi (2020-2022) when he scored 39 goals in 60 games.
He debuted for the Hungary national football team in 2022 and has played 21 matches, scoring three goals.
