Ferrari, a 28-year-old lawyer in Brazil, shared her account of the alleged abuse, saying that she has been "assaulted" by Payet and suffered "physical, moral, psychological and sexual violence."
"He asked me for proof of love, which consisted of humiliation. I recorded videos of myself drinking my own urine, drinking the water from the toilet bowl and licking the floor," she told AFP.
Payet, who moved to Brazil to play for Vasco de Gama in 2023, reportedly began his relationship with Ferrari, a fan of the team, in August 2024. Although they initially did not plan for a long-term relationship, they grew closer over time.
In December 2024, after a dispute, Payet allegedly told Ferrari that he would punish her. The ongoing physical and mental abuse prompted her to report the matter to the police.
Ferrari, a mother of two, also denied accusations that she was with Payet for financial gain, revealing that during their seven-month relationship, the last time they met, she had taken a bus to Rio, GiveMeSport reported.
Payet moved to Brazil for his career while his wife, Ludivine, and their four children remained in France. The 38-year-old attacking midfielder has publicly praised his wife for supporting him while playing away from home.
Neither Payet nor Vasco de Gama have commented on Ferrari's allegations.
Payet gained prominence during his time at West Ham United in the Premier League from 2015-2017 and also had a successful nine-season stint at Marseille. He was part of the France national team that reached the Euro 2016 final, where he was named in the team of the tournament.
