Al Nassr recently arrived in Austria, attracting significant attention from local fans. The Saudi Arabian club will spend about a month preparing for the new season, which kicks off with the Super Cup semifinal against Al Ittihad on Aug. 19.
Although Ronaldo has not yet reported to camp, he is expected to join the team soon. In anticipation of his arrival, Al Nassr have tightened security measures to maintain focus during this pre-season training period, Kooora reported.
Ronaldo, with his global popularity, tends to draw massive crowds wherever he is present, prompting the club to implement strict control measures to prevent disruptions.
According to Austrian media, Ronaldo will be accompanied by 16 bodyguards to prevent disturbances from fans. All training sessions will be closed to the public and the press.
Al Nassr have prioritized security since signing Ronaldo in early 2023. The Portuguese star recently extended his contract until 2027, which includes a personal full-time staff of 16 people, four of whom are security guards tasked with protecting him and his family in Saudi Arabia.
In April 2025, Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez replaced their security team, appointing Claudio Miguel Vaz, a Portuguese security expert, as their new chief bodyguard. The move came after the family received threats on social media, prompting police intervention.
The couple also relocated to a luxury apartment in Riyadh, with a strict surveillance system to ensure safety.
Since joining Al Nassr as a free agent in January 2023, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals and provided 19 assists in 111 appearances across all competitions. Despite his individual success, he has only won one title with the club, the Arab Club Champions Cup in August 2023.
