Brazilian football legend and president of Spanish club Real Valladolid Ronaldo Nazario has come under fire after being spotted leaving a restaurant in Madrid over the weekend appearing unsteady and unable to talk properly.

Footage showed Ronaldo walking past fans calling his name and heading straight to a waiting car. He was helped into the vehicle under a white sheet and shielded his face in the back seat.

According to Diario de Valladolid, Ronaldo was leaving a restaurant in Madrid and had to ask someone for assistance.

The video quickly sparked outrage among Valladolid fans, many of whom are already frustrated with Ronaldo's absence from the club's home matches, as he has not attended one since the season opener last August. The incident coincided with Ronaldo's appearance at the tennis tournament Madrid Open alongside his wife, fueling further criticism.

Valldolid's supporters posted the video online, criticizing Ronaldo's priorities: "This is the image of our president on the same day the club recorded its eighth consecutive defeat, a historic low in nearly 100 years. Our club is not dying, it's being killed."

During Valladolid's home match against Barcelona on Saturday, fans protested by throwing fake €500 notes with Ronaldo's face onto the pitch and chanting "Go home Ronaldo" at halftime. Despite leading 1–0 at the break, Valladolid went on to lose 1-2.

Some fans, however, came to Ronaldo's defense. In response to comments that he seemed "happier than usual," one supporter replied: "So what? Everyone is free to live their life, so don't judge. He's not driving. He spends his own money and doesn't owe anyone anything. He's retired and not playing tomorrow."

Recent reports suggest that Ronaldo is about to sell the club. A preliminary agreement to transfer ownership has reportedly been signed, though confidentiality clauses prevent full disclosure until later this month.

Ronaldo, 48, is one of football's all-time greats, affectionately nicknamed "El Phenomenon" for his football skills. He played for clubs including Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid and Milan before retiring in 2011 at Corinthians.

A two-time Ballon d'Or winner and two-time World Cup champion with Brazil (1994 and 2002), Ronaldo has never won the Champions League. Since retiring, he has focused on business ventures in media and real estate, rather than coaching or punditry like other footballers.
