Cristiano Ronaldo's next club, after his contract with Al Nassr expires at the end of next month, could provide him with a chance to play in the FIFA Club World Cup or return to the Champions League.

Al Hilal

On May 26, Ronaldo posted on social media: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all," fueling speculation about his exit from Al Nassr. His contract expires in June 2025, and the two sides have yet to agree on an extension.

If he departs, Al Hilal, Al Nassr’s rival, could be a potential destination, according to Saudi Arabia media. Both clubs share the same owner, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. As four-time AFC Champions League winners, Al Hilal have qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S. starting mid-June. Ronaldo is reportedly eager to compete in this prestigious tournament featuring 32 clubs.

Botafogo

Brazil will be represented at the FIFA Club World Cup by four clubs: Botafogo, Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense. According to Brazilian media, one of these clubs have approached Ronaldo with an offer to join their quest for the title.

Coach Renato Paiva has publicly welcomed Ronaldo but stressed that the final decision lies with owner John Textor, who has investments in Botafogo, Crystal Palace, Lyon and Molenbeek.

Inter Miami

The possibility of Ronaldo teaming up with Lionel Messi is becoming increasingly realistic, with many factors supporting the move, including encouragement from FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Inter Miami’s co-owner David Beckham, a former player at Manchester United and Real Madrid, would welcome the reunion. As hosts, Inter Miami have secured a place in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Galatasaray

The Turkish Super Lig has long been a destination for high-profile stars in the later stages of their careers, fitting Ronaldo's current profile. Galatasaray, enjoying one of the best periods in their history with three consecutive league titles, competes in the Champions League, offering Ronaldo a chance to boost his record of 140 goals in Europe's premier club competition.

With Galatasaray unlikely to secure Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen, Ronaldo's chances of joining the club would increase.

Sporting Lisbon

A return to his boyhood club would be an emotional homecoming for Ronaldo. He spent five years in Sporting's youth academy and played one season with the first team before moving to Manchester United.

Sporting could provide Ronaldo with a route back to the Champions League and a shot at winning the Portuguese league title, an accolade he has yet to claim. The club is actively seeking a quality striker to replace Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to join Arsenal or Chelsea this summer.

Previously, Ronaldo’s mother has expressed hope that he would one day return to Portugal.
