Many VnExpress International readers agreed that Vietnam should stop counting daily Covid cases and get on with normal life.

"Not reporting numbers would be a wise decision, some people could finally stop living in fear."

"Very wise. You can see similar developments in Europe as well. Now please re-open the borders and let the people get back to their life.

You don't need to know how many people have Covid, just like you don't need to know how many people have a flu. Just look at the hospitalization and death numbers - that is what truly matter."

"Agree the daily cases don't say a lot and ICU and death rate is stable. No need to waste resources to count. Also many don't inform authorities."

"I'd like to see people celebrating in the streets when masks are finally dropped."

"Updates daily scare people from having a normal life. Did we ever get daily updates with the flu? Do we get daily updates with people who die from lung cancer caused through smoking? Maybe if they did less people would smoke."

"#endemic phase ... Let's get back to regular reporting on what we lost when 90 percent of media news coverage shifted to viruses and medical products ... please report more on the economic recovery, social problems such as addiction to social media, alcohol & meth ... also the skyrocketing deaths worldwide from diabetes, cancer, and stroke due to the proliferation of marketing sugary processed junk food to target children. Thanks."
