Blackpink's 7th anniversary video filmed at Hanoi Michelin restaurant

Blackpink posted a video sharing their seven-year journey on Tuesday, since the first days of debuting on the official YouTube channel, which now has 90.5 million subscribers.

The video has received 3.8 million views and 34,000 comments.

Some Vietnamese were surprised that the filming location of the video was a restaurant in Hanoi, recognizing details such as the interior of the typical decorative wooden boxes and a purple water cup with the image of the Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake.

The filming location where Blackpink sang "Happy Birthday" was said to be at Akio Bar & Lounge in the lobby area of Koki restaurant, which was awarded one Michelin star in June.

This area has Asian-style architecture with shelves displaying ceramic products. The lounge serves a menu with 60 varieties of sake from various regions. This is also home to a variety of teas imported from Japan.

"At Koki’s Akio Lounge, the bar team takes a road trip through Japan with cocktails themed after stops along the way: Nikko and its cherry blossom, Oita and its bubbling hot springs. Each one comes with a snack, approved by Juinichi Yoshida, the chef who turned teppanyaki into Michelin-star cuisine at his restaurant, Ishigaki Yoshida, just outside Roppongi," said American magazine Condé Nast Traveler.

Capella Hanoi Hotel in Hoan Kiem District was where the girl band stayed during their two-day concert tour on July 29-30. They enjoyed Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi at Koki restaurant.

Hanoi said it received 170,000 visitors who spent VND630 billion (US$26.5 million) during the two nights of the Blackpink performance.
