VNGGames, Gamota honored as excellent publishers at Vietnam Game Awards

The event was co-organized by the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (ABEI), the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), VnExpress, FPT Online, and the Vietnam Game Alliance.

The Vietnam Game Awards 2024 ceremony attracted a lot of attention from the game-loving community at Phu Tho Gymnasium in HCMC on Sunday night.

This year, the Vietnam Game Awards 2024 focuses on honoring products, services, communities, and individuals related to the gaming field with outstanding achievements in four category groups: The Golden Galaxy (for games released in Vietnam), The Golden Sun (Vietnamese games), The Golden Star (electronic sports), and The Golden Gear (game-related services and equipment).

VGA 2024 also granted some new awards, such as Gamers' Most Favorite Network, in which games and devices nominated in the program must be released from 2023 onwards, except for the Timeless Games and Esports Games categories.

Excellent Game Publisher

A surprising development occurred in the biggest and most important category, the 2024 Excellent Game Publisher, when two prestigious companies appeared on stage.

Both VNGGames and Gamota have the same score, calculated at 70% by the jury's evaluation and 30% by readers.

Nominations in the final round of the category also included VTC, Gosu Online Corporation, and Funtap.

Game of the Year Award

The Vietnam Game Awards 2024 stage exploded when the MC announced the nominees in the Game of the Year category: Teamfight Tactics, Revelation, Alo Chuong Chess, Battle Team 2, and Silkroad Origin VTC.

When Teamfight Tactics was named the winner, cheers and applause rang out at Phu Tho Gymnasium.

Many fans of the game stayed late to witness the moment when it was honored the best game of the year.

Teamfight Tactics Mobile, the mobile version of Teamfight Tactics (TFT), was launched in Vietnam at the end of November 2023 and created a fever in the gaming community.

The game reached top 1 downloads on both the App Store and Google Play just a few hours after release, and over one million downloads after three days of launch.

Football Pro VTC surpassed fierce opponents to win in the Excellent Mobile Game category. This sports game also won another important award: Most Popular Game Community.

The Golden Sun award group honors and encourages Vietnamese game products with six awards.

God of Weapons won two categories: Vietnamese Game with Best Gameplay and Excellent Vietnamese Indie Game.

With a simple but intuitive graphic design and a bit of an anime style, Sky Dancer 2 won the Vietnamese Game with Excellent Graphic Design award.

WOWS: World of Warships won big at the Vietnam Game Awards 2024 with three awards: Vietnamese Game with the Best Story, Excellent Vietnamese Mobile Game, and Vietnamese Game of the Year.

E-Sports awards

The Golden Star is a category dedicated to e-Sports with four awards. This year, Arena of Valor was honored in the Excellent e-Sports Game category.

Battle Teams 2 won the award for Most Popular e-Sports Community, and the Excellent e-Sports Team at the Vietnam Game Awards 2024 is Saigon Phantom.

When the nominations for the Excellent e-Sports Team category were shown on the screen, the majority of the audience at the event simultaneously chanted Thong Lai Bang's name.

This is the second year in a row that the 23-year-old gamer has been honored at the Vietnam Game Awards.

The Golden Gear Award

Asus scored a double when being honored in two categories: Excellent Gaming Phone with ROG Phone 8 and Excellent Gaming Laptop with ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2024).

LG UltraGear 45-inch curved OLED 800R won the award for Excellent Gaming Monitor.

The Excellent Gaming Headset goes to the Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed Wireless.

VNPT won the Most Favorite Network award. MoMo won the Most Favorite Payment Channel award for two consecutive years. Sting surpassed Monster to become the Most Favorite Gamer Drink this year.

In addition to the thrilling chases in each award category, the Vietnam Game Awards 2024 stage is constantly "on fire" with the appearance of singers Bich Phuong and Hieuthuhai.

Both identified themselves as gamers and expressed their joy at being present at the Vietnam GameVerse 2024.

The audience continuously cheered the singers' names and sang along their hit songs.

The organizers also gave rewards to lucky readers who participated in voting for 22 awards at the Vietnam Game Awards 2024, including an iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 GB worth more than VND30 million (US$1,180).
