"Patient 453" was a resident of Son Tra District of Da Nang City.
She was diagnosed with Covid-19 on July 29 while undergoing treatment for final-stage kidney failure and stroke at the Da Nang Hospital. She was transferred to a field hospital in Hoa Vang District for Covid-19 treatment.
She tested negative for the coronavirus three different times on August 19, 21, and 23.
On Tuesday night, she died of septic shock, multiple-organ failure, pneumonia, final-stage renal failure and stroke, the Health Ministry announced Wednesday.
The woman is not being counted as a Covid-19 fatality.
Earlier this month, a 61-year-old man suffering from kidney failure in Da Nang died after he had tested negative for the novel coronavirus four times.
Vietnam has recorded 1,029 Covid-19 cases so far, 407 of them active.
The country's pandemic death toll has risen to 28, including that of a 36-year-old man whose demise was announced Wednesday. All the fatalities so far suffered various pre-existing comorbidities, with renal failure being the most common of them.
