A TikTok influencer in Ho Chi Minh City was summoned by the police for insulting national heroes after uploading videos mentioning President Ho Chi Minh.

Pham Duc Tuan, whose TikTok channel is named "Tuan Khong Can" and formerly "No O No", was fined VND30 million ($1,181) by the Department of Information and Communications on Thursday.

Tuan was found to have committed the violation of insulting national leaders and heroes, but his behavior was not severe enough to constitute a criminal offense.

He had uploaded on TikTok several videos where he would ask people who they would pick between President Ho Chi Minh and other celebrities.

Tuan has since removed the videos with violating content.

Previously in 2022, Tuan was also fined VND7.5 million by the HCMC information department for uploading videos with controversial content.
