The technology that Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio developed allows any Meta smart glass user to see public information about who they are looking at, including their home address, phone number and family members, according to a report by independent media company 404 Media.
The modified glasses would scan a person's face to find relevant public data that the person has published online.
The project was designed to raise awareness of what is possible with this technology, and the two creators do not plan on releasing their code.
It takes less than 20 seconds for the system to return the relevant data.
Nguyen and Ardayfio use AI models such as PimEyes facial recognition, Large Language Model and FastPeople Search to provide necessary info.
The glasses look similar to any other Ray-ban glasses, Nguyen told VnExpress, adding that it took them four days to develop the software for the glasses.
Nguyen said that he was born in 2003 in Lam Dong Province in Vietnam’s central highlands. He moved to the U.S. at 6 years of age and is now pursuing Human Augmentation at Harvard University.
