Another 86 cases were added to Vietnam's local Covid-19 infection tally Thursday noon, raising the domestic count of the ongoing wave to 6,537.

The new patients were recorded in eight localities, including HCMC and Hanoi.

Bac Giang Province in the north recorded 52 cases and its neighbor Bac Ninh 10. They are all linked to clusters at the provinces' industrial parks.

HCMC reported 15 cases, including ten related to the hotspot at a Christian congregation based in Go Vap District. The sources of transmission for the other five are still under investigation.

Hanoi got four cases that are all associated with a Covid-19 patient, who is a 39-year-old woman that sells vegetable at a wet market in Dong Anh Town, the capital of Dong Anh District.

Central Ha Tinh Province registered two cases linked to a Covid-19 patient, who works at the Ha Tinh General Hospital.

Northern Lang Son and Hai Duong provinces reported one case each and they had all come into contact with Covid-19 cases.

Long An Province that borders HCMC confirmed one case that has also contracted the virus from a previously confirmed patient.

The fourth Covid-19 wave broke out in Vietnam six weeks ago and so far, the nation has recorded cases in 39 cities and provinces.
