The Health Ministry on Sunday noon confirmed six new domestic Covid-19 infections, all having been put in quarantine zones.

Five of the new patients were recorded at K Hospital, a leading cancer treatment facility, in Tan Trieu Commune in Hanoi's Thanh Tri District. The hospital has been under lockdown since May 7 as a coronavirus cluster.

The other case case is a 37-year-old woman in the northern province of Hung Yen, who was in close contact with a Covid-19 patient and had been previously quarantined. She is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi.

With the latest additions, Sunday's infection tally has so far reached 133, including 127 confirmed in the morning.

Since the new wave broke out on April 27, Vietnam has reported 1,086 new local cases of Covid-19 in 26 cities and provinces.

The country has recorded 4,118 infections since the start of the pandemic, including 2,668 recoveries and 36 deaths.
