The Ministry of Health announced three Covid-19 Friday evening, pushing the country’s death toll since the pandemic started to 84.

Two deaths are in epicenter HCMC and one in the northern Bac Ninh Province.

The patient in Bac Ninh is a 69-year-old man in Yen Phong District. On May 13, the patient was tested positive for Covid-19 . He was diagnosed with pneumonia caused by Covid-19, exhaustion and was treated with antibiotics.

After days of treatment, his condition turned critically worse on June 29 with heart, liver and kidney failure and septic shock.

The patient died on June 30 due to septic shock, multi-organ failure and severe pneumonia with complications caused by Covid-19.

The next death is a 67-year-old man in Thu Duc District, HCMC with an underlying condition of history of hypertension, type 2 diabetes and chronic renal failure.

The other death is a 64-year-old man in District 12, HCMC. The patient had a history of hypertension and heart disease. On June 15, the patient tested positive for Covid-19 and was transferred to the Cu Chi Field hospital for treatment.

Diagnosis included septic shock, multiple organ failure, severe pneumonia caused by Covid-19, complications of progressive respiratory failure with a background of hypertension and heart disease.

Since the new wave started on April 27, Vietnam has recorded 49 deaths.
