Vietnam records nearly 354,000 new Covid cases

Vietnam on Thursday recorded 353,962 local Covid-19 cases, including over 175,000 cases from previous days added to the national database by Vinh Phuc and Hai Duong provinces.

The total number of infections in the fourth wave since late April last year is now 7,094,869 cases.

The three localities with the highest numbers of new cases are Hai Duong with 160,734 cases, Hanoi with 25,311 cases and Vinh Phuc with 23,845 cases.

76 deaths were also added to the national database on Thursday, including seven in Hanoi and two in HCMC.

The total number of deaths so far is 41,683 cases, or around 0.6 percent of all infections.

76.6 million people have been fully vaccinated, while 44.9 million people have received their third Covid-19 vaccine shots.
