Vietnam recorded 91 local Covid-19 cases Saturday noon in five localities, with the central province of Ha Tinh and the southern Tien Giang Province added to the list.

65 cases were recorded in the northern province of Bac Giang, eight in its neighbor Bac Ninh, 15 in HCMC, two in Ha Tinh and one in Tien Giang.

All the cases in Bac Giang and seven cases in Bac Ninh are associated with existing outbreaks at the provinces' industrial parks. The other case in Bac Ninh had made contact with a Covid-19 patient.

The two cases in Ha Tinh are husband and wife, 52 and 56 years old who returned from southern Binh Duong Province on May 30. They have had contact with a Covid-19 patient from Hanoi who had traveled to Binh Duong.

The case in Tien Giang is a 20-year-old man in the province's Cai Lay Town, who has had contact with a previously confirmed Covid-19 patient in HCMC who is linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission, a self-described Christian congregation.

All the new cases in HCMC are also linked with the religious cluster, which is deemed the most threatening one in the city, with over 320,000 people associated with it. 21 out of 22 districts of HCMC have recorded cases related to this cluster.

Since April 27 when the new wave started in Vietnam 5,341 local infections have been recorded in 39 of the nation's 63 cities and provinces. The country had recorded 75 new cases on Saturday morning.

Bac Giang and Bac Ninh have the highest numbers of infections, at 2,929 and 1,025, followed by Hanoi with 432, including 143 in the capital's locked down hospitals, and HCMC with 339.
