Vietnam records another 173,631 Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health announced 125,568 Covid-19 local cases on Friday, plus 48,000 cases reported in Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh from the previous days.

With the additional cases, Bac Ninh leads the Friday tally with 35,085 cases, followed by Quang Ninh with 22,889 and Hanoi with 21,395.

On Friday, 97 deaths were confirmed, pushing the death toll to 40,644 cases, or 1 percent of the total infections.

There were also 38,911 recoveries on the same day, increasing the number of recovered patients to 2,589,436.

Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Vietnam has recorded 4,059,262 cases.

Over 67.5 million have received two doses of vaccine and 15.4 have received three doses.
