Vietnam records 94,376 new Covid cases

The Health Ministry confirmed 94,376 new local Covid-19 cases in 61 cities and provinces Monday.

The northern province of Quang Ninh added 28,095 cases recorded from previous days to the national database, pushing the ongoing wave's tally to 3,336,118.

The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Hanoi with 12,850 cases, Quang Ninh with 9,105 cases, and Nghe An with 3,958 cases.

Of the day's tally, 66,227 cases were detected in the community.

The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 40,255 with the confirmation of 108 deaths Monday.

The Health Ministry also confirmed 27,039 recoveries the same day, bringing the total number of recovered cases so far to 2,438,951.

Over 75.8 million people of Vietnam's 96 million population have been vaccinated with two doses, and more than 38.6 million have received the third dose.
