Vietnam records 85 more local coronavirus cases

The Health Ministry recorded 85 more local Covid-19 cases Tuesday noon in nine cities and provinces.

63 of the cases are in Bac Giang, seven in Hanoi, four in Dien Bien, three in Bac Ninh, three in Hai Duong, two in Da Nang and one each in Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Ha Nam.

All cases in Bac Giang are associated with existing outbreaks in three industrial parks Quang Chau, Van Trung and Dinh Tram.

The seven cases in Hanoi have all made contacts with existing coronavirus cases. One of them was recorded inside the capital's locked down K Hospital, a major coronavirus hotspot.

The four cases in Dien Bien have all made contacts with existing coronavirus cases. They are being treated at a local field hospital.

The three cases in Bac Ninh have made contact with coronavirus patients, including a worker at the Hosiden company, a coronavirus hotspot in the province.

The cases in Da Nang, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Ha Nam have also made contact with existing coronavirus cases.

The case in Hai Phong is a 42-year-old woman who was screened in the community after having a fever.

Nationwide, 1,425 cases have been recorded in 28 cities and provinces so far in Vietnam's latest Covid-19 wave. Two coronavirus deaths have been recorded during the wave, increasing the national Covid-19 death toll to 37.
