Vietnam records 8,530 new Covid-19 patients

Health authorities confirmed 8,530 Covid-19 cases Friday, pushing the domestic tally in the new wave to 732,493.

HCMC leads the day’s tally with 3,786 cases, followed by Binh Duong with 2,978.

In Friday’s count,4,462 were found in quarantine zones or lockdown areas.

The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 18,220 with the confirmation of 203 deaths Friday.

On average, there have been 226 Covid deaths a day for the past seven days.

The number of recoveries has increased to 505,859, including the 12,371 discharges.

In the past 24 hours, over 176,000 tests have been conducted on more than 422,000 samples.

More than 36.7 million have been vaccinated at least once and nearly 7 million have got the prescribed two doses.
