Vietnam records 6,941 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed 6,941 new Covid-19 cases Friday, pushing the ongoing wave’s tally to 793,150.

Epicenter HCMC continued to the lead the daily tally with 3,670, followed by Binh Duong with 1,787 cases. On average, Vietnam has recorded 8,665 cases a day for the past seven days.

With the deaths of 136 people announced Friday, the pandemic’s death toll in Vietnam rose to 19,347. The total number of recoveries also increased to 636,081, after 27,250 discharges were confirmed Friday.

Since the start of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 797,712 cases.

Nationwide, over 33.1 million people have been vaccinated at least once.
