Vietnam records 4,311 new Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed 4,311 new Covid-19 cases Friday evening, pushing up the tally in the ongoing wave to 189,422.

Current epicenter HCMC led the latest addition with 1,497 cases, followed by Binh Duong (847), Long An (573) and 29 other provinces and cities.

On Friday, Vietnam recorded a total of 8,320 local cases. The number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic increased to 62,332, after 4,292 were announced recovered Friday.

With 296 Covid-19 deaths recorded so far this month, 219 of them in HCMC, the overall death toll since the pandemic began has reached 3,016.

Meanwhile, more than 8 million citizens have been vaccinated at least once.
