Vietnam records 3,552 new domestic Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed 3,552 Covid-19 cases in 31 localities Sunday night, pushing the day's tally to 7,525 cases.

The new patients were recorded in HCMC (2,227), the southern Binh Duong (368), Tay Ninh (186), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (126), Dong Nai (119), Dong Thap (90), Can Tho (38), Binh Phuoc (20), Ben Tre (12), Tra Vinh (10), Kien Giang (8), Hau Giang (7) and Bac Lieu (3); the central provinces of Phu Yen (95), Khanh Hoa (90), Binh Thuan (78), Dak Lak (14), Quang Nam (11), Ninh Thuan (7), Gia Lai (6), Binh Dinh (6), Quang Ngai (4), Nghe An (3), Dak Nong (2), Thua Thien - Hue (2), Lam Dong (1), and Thanh Hoa (1) ; Hanoi (4) and the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc (11), Bac Ninh (2) and Ha Nam (1).

Of all the cases confirmed Sunday, 6,009 are in quarantine zones and areas under lockdown and the remaining 1,516 were detected in the community with unknown sources of transmission.

Sunday is the 90th day of the current wave, which has seen 94,666 local infections recorded in 62 of Vietnam's 63 cities and provinces. HCMC is now the epicenter with 60,425 cases.

The country discharged 1,755 patients on Sunday.
