Vietnam records 3,122 new Covid cases

Health authorities confirmed 3,122 new Covid-19 cases in 53 cities and provinces on Monday, the lowest number in more than three months.

In the last week, the daily average was 5,938 cases, down 10 percent from the previous week. The daily average death toll was three, down 64 percent.

On Monday, two deaths were reported, taking the toll since the beginning of the pandemic to 43,044, or 0.4 percent of the country’s total infections.

The number of severe patients over the past seven days was 475, down 29 percent from the previous week.

In the latest wave that began in April last year, over 10.51 million cases have been reported with 9.2 million already recovering.
