Vietnam records 263 local Covid cases

Vietnam recorded 263 new local Covid-19 cases Sunday morning, mostly in HCMC.

217 cases were recorded in HCMC, 17 in Phu Yen, 15 in Long An, nine in Khanh Hoa, two each in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Dong Thap, and one in An Giang.

204 cases in HCMC have been contained within quarantine zones and other locked down areas. 13 others are being contact traced.

All the cases in Phu Yen, Long An, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Thap and An Giang are associated with previously confirmed coronavirus cases.

Vietnam has recorded 15,893 cases in 52 of its 63 cities and provinces since the fourth Covid-19 wave broke out in the nation on April 27.

Bac Giang leads with 5,661 cases, with HCMC closing in at 5,654 cases.

Over 3.8 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far, with over 218,000 of them having received two shots.
