Vietnam records 197,467 new Covid-19 cases

The three localities with the highest numbers of new cases are Bac Giang with 37,025, Hanoi with 23,578 and Nghe An with 9,968.

The total Covid death toll rose to 41,740 with the addition of 57 deaths Friday. The death ratio is around 0.6 percent of all infections.

The total number of infections in the fourth wave since late April last year is now more than 7.3 million, of which 3.8 million have recovered.

The nation has administered over 201 million Covid-19 vaccine doses so far.
