Vietnam records 166,205 new local Covid cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday another 166,205 new local Covid-19 cases, including more than 25,000 detected in previous days.

The localities with the highest number of cases on Sunday are Hanoi with 19,065 cases and central Nghe An Province with 9,333 cases.

The additional cases added Sunday to the national database are in the northern Vinh Phuc Province.

Also Sunday, the Health Ministry announced 63 more deaths due to Covid-19, raising the total number of deaths so far to 41,883 cases, or around 0.5 percent of all infections.

The country now has 3,968 of severe Covid-19 patients.

Of its 96-million population, around 76.2 million have received two vaccine shots and 45.7 million have received three.
