Vietnam records 14,867 new Covid cases

The Health Ministry confirmed 14,867 new local Covid-19 cases Monday, down 315 cases from the previous day, pushing the ongoing wave's tally to 1,659,987.

The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Hanoi with 1,948 cases, Tay Ninh with 943 cases, and Hai Phong with 931 cases.

Of the day's tally, 10,418 cases were detected in the community.

The Health Ministry also confirmed 11,374 recoveries the same day, bringing the total number of recovered cases so far to 1,259,614.

The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam rose to 31,418 with the confirmation of 204 deaths Monday.

The average number of new cases in the country for the past seven days has been 15,851 a day while the national death rate has been 232 a day on average.

Over 66.4 million people of Vietnams 96 million population have been vaccinated with two doses, and more than 2.8 million have received the third dose.
