Vietnam records 13,500 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed 13,500 new Covid-19 cases Tuesday, dropping more than 29,000 against Monday.

The three localities with the highest numbers of new cases are Hanoi with 1,022 cases, northern Yen Bai Province with 605 cases and HCMC with 557 cases.

With 18 deaths confirmed in the past 24 hours, the death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 42,975, or 0.4 percent of total infections.

The average number of new infections recorded in the past week was 18,051 cases per day, down 52 percent compared to the previous week.

In the fourth wave that started last year, over 10.4 million cases have been detected and more than 9 million have recovered.
