63 cases were recorded in HCMC, 24 in Binh Duong, nine in Hung Yen, eight in Bac Giang, five in Bac Ninh, two in Phu Yen and one each in Long An, Binh Dinh, Hai Phong and Bac Kan.
54 of the cases in HCMC are close contact cases, three others are linked to the Tan Phu Trung industrial park in Cu Chi District, two linked to the Son Ky market in Tan Phu District, two linked to the Binh Dien market in District 8, and two are being contact traced.
The cases in its neighbor Binh Duong are linked to a company in Thu Dau Mot Town.
All the cases in Hung Yen, Binh Dinh and Hai Phong are close contact cases.
The cases in Bac Giang were already contained within quarantine zones and locked down areas.
Two cases in Bac Ninh are close contact cases, two linked to an area of Tien An Ward and one is linked to an outbreak at the Khac Niem industrial park in the eponymous ward.
The cases in Phu Yen are linked to the Mang Mang market in Binh Kien Commune.
The case in Long An, a 57-year-old woman, is being contact traced.
The case in Bac Kan, a 27-year-old man, is linked to the Quang Chau industrial park in Bac Giang.
Vietnam has recorded 13,262 local Covid-19 cases in 50 of its 63 cities and provinces since the new wave started on April 27. Wednesday alone has seen 208 cases.
Bac Giang leads with 5,701 cases, followed by HCMC with 3,716.
