Vietnam records 11,160 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed 11,160 new Covid-19 cases Friday in 59 provinces and cities.

Hanoi top Friday's tally with 980, followed by Phu Tho (761) and Bac Giang (539).

With seven deaths confirmed in the past 24 hours, the death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 42,998, or 0.4 percent of total infections.

The average number of new infections recorded in the past week was 13,586 cases per day, down 27 percent compared to the previous week.

In the fourth wave that started last year, over 10.5 million cases have been detected and more than 9 million have recovered.
