Vietnam logs 28 new Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health reported 28 more Covid-19 community transmissions in northern Vietnam Tuesday morning, raising tally of the new wave so far to 486.

All the new patients are recorded at clusters that are already isolated. Some of them had close contact with Covid-19 patients or are found positive via mass testing.

Of them, 13 are in Bac Ninh Province, seven in Vinh Phuc Province, five in Bac Giang Province while Lang Son, Hai Duong and Hanoi's National Hospital for Tropical Diseases recorded on each.

Since April 27, Vietnam has registered 486 community transmissions in 26 cities and provinces. Hanoi has recorded 144 cases including 51 in the community and the rest linked to two major hospital, the tropical diseases facility and the K Hospital that treat cancer patients. Bac Ninh has 98 and Vinh Phuc 60.

Da Nang has registered 53 cases and HCMC one.

On Monday, the nation's new daily Covid-19 tally surpassed 100 for the first time, hitting 125 cases.

Vietnam has recorded 2,056 domestic Covid-19 cases and 1,433 imported cases since the pandemic broke out.
