Vietnam extradites man to S. Korea for fraud

A Korean suspect accused of fraud has been extradited back to South Korea from Ho Chi Minh City.

Kim Kwang Pil, 47, was handed over to representatives of the South Korean Ministry of Justice and the Seoul Prosecutors’ Office at HCMC’s Tan Son Nhat Airport on Nov. 21 after the HCMC People’s Court decided on the extradition.

Kim was requested to be extradited back to South Korea so he could be charged with obtaining property by fraud.

Vietnam and South Korea signed an extradition treaty in 2003.
