This tribute coincides with the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975–2025) and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's founding (Sept. 2, 1945–2025).
Under this decision, individuals who participated in revolutionary activities before Jan. 1, 1945, leading up to the August Revolution of 1945, will each receive a monetary gift of VND500,000. This tribute also extends to wounded and sick veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and Labor Heroes recognized during the resistance wars.
Additional recipients include those who served during resistance wars, victims affected by Agent Orange/dioxin who qualify for state assistance, former revolutionaries, resistance fighters, individuals who were captured or imprisoned while on national defense or international duties, and family members of fallen soldiers.
Families with multiple martyrs, representatives maintaining memorial altars for martyrs without surviving relatives, will also be honored.
The distribution of these gratitude payments is scheduled for April 30, coinciding with national Reunification Day celebrations. The entire amount is funded by the central government budget, in accordance with a government decree.
