Vietnam confirmed another 56 Covid-19 patients Sunday noon, sending the domestic count of Vietnam's fourth wave to 3,893.

Northern Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces recorded 45, nine and one cases, respectively. Long An Province that borders Ho Chi Minh City detected one case.

The newly confirmed cases in Bac Giang have been isolated prior to the test results. All came in close contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patients, while the local infections in Bac Ninh were recorded from three clusters in the province.

In Hai Duong, the patient is two-year-old girl who has had close contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patient.

The case in Long An, a 22-year-old woman, is linked to the cluster at the HCMC's Revival Ekklesia Mission, a Christian congregation. That raised the number of confirmed cases linked to the mission to 98, including 94 in HCMC and three in Long An. The other case is in the southern Bac Lieu Province.

With the latest additions, Bac Giang still leads the infection count with 2,074 confirmed cases, followed by Bac Ninh with 776.

Vietnam entered its fourth wave of Covid-19 community transmission on April 27 and since then, infections have been registered in 34 cities and provinces.
