Vietnam adds 210 Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed 210 new Covid-19 patients Friday evening, taking the daily tally to 527.

Of the evening’s cases, 150 were detected in HCMC, 20 in Phu Yen, 13 in Binh Duong, 10 in Quang Ngai, three each in Da Nang and Vinh Long, two each in Long An, An Giang and Tay Ninh, and one each in Nghe An, Dong Thap, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lam Dong.

In HCMC, 117 cases were detected within quarantine zones and 33 cases are being contact traced.

The cases in Phu Yen, Long An, Bac Ninh, Quang Ngai, An Giang, Nghe An, Bac Giang and Lam Dong had contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patients.

In Binh Duong, three people had contact with Covid-19 patients, three are linked to a company in Thu Dau Mot Town, another three to a company in Thuan An Town and four are being contact traced.

The sources of transmission of two cases in Vinh Long are undetermined. The cases in Dong Thap and Tay Ninh are being contact traced.

Also Friday, 148 patients were discharged and three more deaths confirmed. This took the total number of recoveries to 7,395 and the death toll to 84 since the start of the pandemic.
