Two workers in the north central province of Thanh Hoa died after getting vaccinated against Covid-19, the provincial health department announced Wednesday.

The Nong Cong District medical center had vaccinated workers of the Kim Viet Shoe Company Tuesday with the second shot of the Vero Cell Covid-19 vaccine from Sinopharm, according to the province's Health Department.

All people vaccinated had their health screened and were advised about the side effects.

Following the injections, several workers began to experience side effects. Five of them suffered severe reactions diagnosed as anaphylactic shock and were transferred to the Nong Cong District General Hospital, and later the provincial General Hospital.

Two of the workers died Wednesday morning, at 0:45 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. The cause of their complications following vaccination is being investigated.

Thanh Hoa has recorded around 2,000 Covid-19 cases in the fourth coronavirus wave, including more than 1,000 recoveries and 12 deaths.

Around 2.2 million Covid-19 vaccine shots have been given in the province.
