The incident unfolded on June 6 at Terminal 1, where authorities were called in following reports of a disturbance, Singapore police said on June 8. Officers arrived to find the woman visibly agitated at the self-service check-in area, The Straits Times reported.
Viral footage of the arrest, shared widely on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, shows three uniformed officers restraining the woman on the carpeted floor as shocked onlookers, including young children, watched from nearby.
In the video, the woman, who appeared to be of Asian descent with brown-dyed hair and tattoos on her left arm, can be heard yelling incoherently while resisting arrest.
A witness who posted the clip said the woman had been seen striking the check-in machines before security staff intervened, MS News reported.
The situation then escalated quickly, with airport personnel attempting to calm her down before police stepped in. She was later seen being escorted away in handcuffs. The entire ordeal lasted about 10 minutes, the witness said.
An investigation is ongoing.
